Sunrise 7:23: Jogging the rolling hills of Carneros


After what ssems like weeks of rain (closer to days), the Dawn Joggers awoke to bright sunshine streaming through their cottage in the Carneros wine region that straddles the Sonoma and Napa vallys. The male DJ headed to the well-equipped fitness center while the female DJ took off along the back roads dotted with the vineyards of the Carneros wine alliance. From the age of the vines, she's guessing that many of the ranches she passed were once home to sheep and cattle (carneros means sheep she discovered in a good history of the region found here). But like her cousin's land in Potter Valley, most has been taken over by vines planted by big and small wine making companies. That didn't prevent her from spotting a traditional farmhouse along her way...
