Sunrise 6:18: Five miles of unexceptional

The female Dawn Jogger feels like those souvenir t-shirts that say "My grandparents went to New York and all I got was this lousy t-shirt." Her five mile run across the Stanford campus was like that this morning. Gray skies so no pretty sunrise. Not a student in sight (of course). No activity. No interesting leftovers from "Admit Weekend." Had to settle for a mystery woman photographed who knows when or where. Some place on campus, just before or during WWII...

Sunrise 6:55: Signs of spring on campus

The female Dawn Jogger spotted signs of the silliness and fun of spring all over the Stanford campus this morning. With winter finals behind them, the students appeared to have unpacked - or purchased - things that take full advantage of the recent warm weather. There's little chance that the kayaks (far rear of top photo) will get launched in Lake Lagunita, which is down to a couple of large ponds, which may mean the hammocks get full use. The kid who set up a swimming pool also has a complete barbeque equipment. The female DJ remembers when spring meant the start of 'protest season'...
