Sunrise 7:28: Fall migration at Baylands
The Dawn Joggers headed over to Baylands on a cool fall morning that turned warm. While the male DJ introduced friends David and Ricki to the area on an out and back walk, they female DJ did her usual loop run, checking out "who" was "in town." While she counted a dozen or so white pelicans and geese, the show stoppers - at least measured by the number of binoculars and telephoto lens - was a large flock some species of waterfowl. Even her trusty Bay Area bird guide didn't yield a clue as what what they were. Next time, she'll ask the enthusiasts...
