Sunrise 6:47: Native garden


The female Dawn Jogger ran by one Menlo Park home this morning that featured a California poppy-filled front yard, set off with other native plants. She thinks it must be pretty spectacular when the poppies are open but wonders what takes their place when their blooming period is over. According to one horticulturist, poppies continue to bloom throughout the summer if spent blossoms are removed. Guess that will keep this homeowner busy...
