Sunrise 6:38: Oak tree down


The first time the female Dawn Jogger experienced the sound of a large, mature oak falling was in South Pasadena when a tree went down in the DJ's front yard, just barely missing Nana and Booka's car. It provided a great natural fort for John and his boyhood friends for the next month or so. An oak in the field near the Red Barn's corrals fell sometime between last Thursday and today. Old oaks often fall after a period of heavy rain when the ground has become saturated. At this time of year, the now fallen oak may provide good nesting ground for some creature...
