Sunrise 6:53: Young man's fancy


"In the spring a young man's fancy turns to love," wrote Tennyson. The result: a young Stanford couple up early enjoying some quiet time next to [dry] Lake Lagunita. Such sightings, including overnight camping, don't usually occur to later in the spring semester. But maybe the ground hog was on to something when he declared an end to winter a few weeks back. After all, scientific research has shown that "spring fever is a physiological response to the increased intensity and duration of vernal sunlight as measure by the brain." Meanwhile, storms are expected over the next couple of days...
