Sunrise 6:08: Abundance of pelicans

The Dawn Joggers headed off to Baylands today where the male DJ broke another record. On the female DJ's loop run she passes the southern end of Baylands which is adjacent to Shoreline Park. Here along the estuaries are numerous colonies of American White Pelican. A quick web search about this big magnificent birds says that they winter along the California coast. Maybe these guys have found the living is easy year round...
